The view of the nest taken from the parking lot between the Lakeside and Parkview buildings. It's April 28 and the little ones can be clearly seen with the naked eye.
Willie (on the left) brings in what looks like a possum for Mina to feed the babies.
Uh oh...it looks like one of them has some long stringy material that it can't fully swallow...The next 15 pics show its attempts to either swallow or get rid of it.
It makes me gag just looking at its struggle...
It's been struggling for about a half-hour now and I'm really concerned for its survival. I'm afraid I will see one less occupant of the nest tomorrow...
April 29 and I get a good look at the baby talons. They look oversized and kind of vicious for such a small tyke.
Mina remains eternally vigilant while the little ones take a nap.
All 3 babies are thankfully still there and looking healthy.
It's feeding time for the ravenous little ones and Willie comes in to deliver --- a tiny field mouse!
Willie seems proud of his catch but Mina seems to be thinking "Why, this is only an appetizer!"
Even the baby can pick up the tiny mouse by itself.
Mina seems to be laying into Willie --- "How are we supposed to feed 3 with a tiny mouse?"
Willie looks abashed as Mina continues her tirade.
Never mind, I guess I'll have to do it myself!" --- Mina flies off...
